Education

Education is our biggest passion at NRNC! More than 300 students experience our programs each year at the Center. We offer interactive exhibits and activities during open hours that are great for both kids and adults. Our educational programs include field trips and summer camp sessions for children of all ages. Our Core Programs meet Next Generation Science Standards.

  • Field trips to the Nature Center meet Next Generation science education standards and provide moments that make scientists. Whether we are catching crabs or casting nets, digging up mollusks, or just diggin’ the anemones and starfish in our salt water aquaria – our inquiry-based programs are designed to encourage critical thinking and to be fun.
  • Summer camps at the Nature Center run from June to August for kids entering 2nd-10th grade. Our programs and activities combine on-the-beach learning with data analysis, instructional games, arts and crafts, and hands-on activities.
  • Community Outreach is an important part of engaging the public about our mission. You can find NRNC at numerous local events throughout the year.

Our activities focus on marine and estuarine ecosystems as well as some broader environmental concepts such as food webs and adaptation. Schedule your trip online, view the full list of programs, or learn more about our summer camps. Plan your trip today!
